Today we have a new post, from the series of publications of the Gente GoBots interviews, where we bring our collaborators to talk a little about their experience with us and mainly tell you a little more about themselves.
Today's guest is Ygor Akio, who told us a little about his trajectory and also what it's like to be Head of Sales here at GoBots!
1 – Where are you from and age
I'm from Campinas – SP and I'm 28 years old.
2 – What led you to pursue this career?
When I returned from Japan, where I lived all my adolescence, I knew I needed a job to support myself.
As sales has a lower barrier to entry, sales embraced me.
Thus, I discovered a taste and aptitude for the thing and, based on my dream of growth, I saw that if I dedicated myself it was also a career that generated many fruits.
This was a long time ago.
Today, I like to joke that sales welcomed me, but now I see that I welcomed sales and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

3 – What moment are you most proud of within GoBots?
There were so many, it's hard to pinpoint just one.
But if I were to narrow it down to a single moment, that's when I became a leader.
Not only because I achieved something I always dreamed of, but a lot because it was the consecration and recognition of all the work I've done since the beginning.
I believe that pride is also related to how much I feel belonging to the company and this is reflected in what I like to call: pride in being GoBots.
4 – When you are not working, what do you like to do?
I think like most people, it depends.
I really like being among people with a good conversation and beer.
So, I also have my moments of introspection with a good book or a series.
But if I were to narrow it down to one specific thing, it would be gaming.
I grew up very involved in the whole gaming culture and it's a habit I've maintained ever since (with a lot more moderation hahaha).
5 – Tell us one of your dreams
One of the dreams that I can say I conquered, even being something I dreamed of since I was a child, was to study at Unicamp.
For me, as a good campineiro, it was always a practically unattainable dream, having an idea of how difficult it was and, mainly, of my starting position, having always studied in public school.
I am aware today that it is possible and I know that it can be a dream as well as frivolous.
But it was a very big achievement in my life and I'm very happy for that 🙂
6 – Tell us a hobby of yours
Pokemon has always been and always will be my favorite game haha.
I still remember the feeling of winning my first gameboy and spending countless hours playing.
I even have a charmander tattoo (certainly the best).
Something I'm also completely addicted to is football, I follow news from my team (Corinthians) as well as I support international teams (Tottenham Hotspurs) because apparently, following a championship was not enough hahaha.
My favorite movie is “Life Is Beautiful” because that movie has a surprisingly positive outlook on life and I like to believe that I'm pretty positive.
7 – What do you like most about GoBots?
I like the opportunity for growth I had.
I've always been very creative and I've never worked in an environment where I had the freedom to express all my feelings and ideas like at GoBots.
When I had the opportunity to do this, my career took a leap, because my motivation and joy in what I was doing, broke any barrier.
I'm sure this is culturally very respected at GoBots and is by far what I like best.
